Jordan Associates Inc. featured in Accent Magazine (2009)

Picture

Jordan Associates was recently featured in Accent Magazine. One of our projects based in Wolfeboro, NH made into the pages of Accent magazine for its unique walkway and natural stone stairway. Below is a small transcript from the article.

"This informal stairway offers another incarnation of stone in the garden, accented by landscape design by Jordan Associates, Inc. that adds an easygoing touch. " Russian cypress, rhododendron, ferns and bearberry were planted along the steps to soften the hard edges of the stone" and cascade gracefully down, explained Tim Jordan. The stairway, installed by Scott Burns, includes thick bluestone slabs that comprise the treads and broken bluestone for the risers. The result is an organic composition that complements the lakeside garden."

JORDAN ASSOCIATES, INC. LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT FOR HGTV – GREEN HOME 2010

Tim Jordan, ASLA is pleased to announce that his firm was the Landscape Architect for the HGTV’s 2010 Green House. The house was built at the Pinehills in Plymouth, MA, a master-planned community on 3,000 acres. The show began airing on HGTV in April of this year.

Jordan Associates Inc. was responsible for grading, patios, walks, fencing, planting plan, and plant list for the House. The plan incorporates many techniques they have used on homes around the lakes of New Hampshire. Some examples are pervious pavers, rain barrels, rain gardens, native drip stone and native plant material and mature pines that were tree spaded from the site.

Tim Jordan, president of Jordan Associates Inc., commented that this project was Green on many different levels. The home is located on a small lot (5000s.f.) and close to the Pinehills Village so you can walk or ride a bike to the Village Green, shops, restaurants, and market – there is no need to take your car out of the garage. The landscape design incorporates all the green elements stated earlier and the home construction used many green building practices. Jordan Associates has provided planning and landscape design services for over 600 homes with in the Pine Hills community.

Jordan Associates Inc. is located in Laconia, NH and provides Land Planning and Landscape Architecture services throughout the Northeast. The firm is a member of the Granite State Landscape Architects and Lakes Region Home Builders Association.

Jordan Associates aids in the launch of new technology (2010)

Jordan Associates Inc has played an important part in launching a new service called FindYourTrees.com. FindYourTrees (FYT) offers a simply, yet innovative tool for landscape professionals. The company was founded by Tim's son Colby, who after working for Tim for 6+ years saw an opportunity to simplify the plant sourcing process.

Find Your Trees works by bringing together buyers and suppliers of plant material through their website, findyourtrees.com. Here buyers can log in and post a list of material they need, those list are then sent out to suppliers through out the region that meet certain criteria specified by the buyer. The suppliers respond to these list with real time pricing and availabilities. A task that use to take hours and hours of time can now be accomplished in minutes with FYT.

FYT first launched at New England Grows 2010 where it was named as a Bright Idea. Some other early success includes aiding in the sourcing of close to $1,000,000 worth of plant material and growing the network of buyers and suppliers into the hundreds. The Find Your Trees team recently signed a partnership with PLANET the largest landscape contractor association in North America. “This partnership is apart of our plans to bring our service to the masses”. Say FYT founder Colby Jordan. Find Your Trees is currently working on several other partnerships to bring their services to Landscape Professionals in the Northeast at discounted prices.
